KVS Named Among Best Places to Work in WNY for Second Year
Family-Friendliness and Open Door Management Policy Cited by Employees
Williamsville, NY- April 11, 2006 -
For the second year in a row, Town of Amherst-based KVS Information Systems,
Inc. has been named as one of the "Best Places to Work in Western New York" by
Business First newspaper.
At a recent award ceremony at
the Statler Towers, KVS was cited as a finalist in the medium
size category, which includes companies employing between 21 and
50 people. The company was one of 21 in its category to
make it through the qualifying process.
To qualify, companies had to
have a high percentage of employees complete a 40-page online
survey. The anonymous surveys included questions regarding
individual contribution, manager effectiveness, retention risk,
trust with co-workers, and team effectiveness, to name a few.
Quantum Market Research of Wichita, Kansas, which administered
the survey, has found employee engagement to be an accurate
measure of how a company rates as a place to work, and designed
the questions to measure just that. Responses were then
analyzed by Quantum and each company's final score is an
indication of how engaged their employees feel in their jobs.
Stand-out comments on the
surveys were read at the ceremony before an award certificate
was presented. A KVS employee quoted wrote, "KVS is a
family-friendly employer which is really appreciated by the
employees. Several employees have been permitted to adjust
their work schedule to allow for childcare issues."
Another employee stated, "Management truly has an open-door
policy and is always willing to discuss and try to solve any
employee problems that arise."
The company was also honored in
the 2005 Business First "Best Places" issue.
Currently, KVS has 46
employees, with 14 of them having been employed for 10 years or
more.
