Press Release - For Immediate Release
Internet Collection Service Offered to Local
Government
Residents Pay Bills via Website
Williamsville, NY-
June 12, 2006 -
An affordable Internet collection solution is being offered to municipal clients
of KVS Information Systems through a joint effort with Municipal Payments, an
internet solution company located in Cortland, NY.
Municipalities enrolled in the
service may collect various types of payments, such as utility
and tax bills, from residents who use the website
www.municipal-payments.com. Residents simply enter
their state, municipality, and bill type, select the bills and
payment method of credit/debit card or electronic check, and
print a receipt.
The service is offered for a
fraction of the financial commitment required of an in-house
solution, according to Brian Campbell of Municipal Payments.
Enrollment cost is based on the municipality's population and
recurs annually.
"Online payments are secure,
easy, and take just a few minutes to complete," noted Valerie
Peterson of the Office of Technology at the City of Oneida, NY.
Oneida has been using the service to accept on-line payments for
water/sewer and tax bills since September 2005. "With each
quarter, the city has seen a rise in use and as a result has
been able to provide an easy collection solution customers were
asking for," she added.
"This is another example of
providing Internet solutions to our local government clients so
they can provide better services to their citizens," added KVS
President Ed Warnke.
