The Association of Indiana Counties (AIC) was established in 1957 for the betterment of county government. The AIC was founded to represent the interests of county government. AIC's purposes and goals are to seek the betterment of county government through: representation of counties at the Indiana General Assembly; research and dissemination of information; communications through publications and seminars; professional training and educational programs; liaison between counties, state and federal agencies; and technical and managerial assistance.

The County Auditors' Association of Ohio (CAAO) represents the interests of Ohio's eighty eight County Auditors.  The Association was formed in 1867 for the express purpose of promoting and protecting the interests of taxpayers in the State of Ohio and improving the administration of county government.

GFOA is the professional association of state/provincial and local finance officers in the United States and Canada, and has served the public finance profession since 1906. Approximately 16,000 GFOA members are dedicated to the sound management of government financial resources.

The Government Finance Officers Association of Pennsylvania is the professional organization of choice for financial professionals at all levels of government throughout Pennsylvania.

The Indiana Association of Cities and Towns Foundation, Inc. is an initiative of the Indiana Association of Cities and Towns. The mission of the IACT Foundation is to support and initiate efforts to promote more efficient and effective local government for the benefit of Hoosiers.

The association is dedicated to the needs, issues, and challenges pertaining to occupational license tax in Kentucky. Whether enacted by a city, county, or school board; whether assessed on payroll, net profit, or gross receipts; KOLA is a resource for the occupational license professional in Kentucky.

The League of Nebraska Municipalities is a nonprofit service association formed in 1909 to serve as a voice for Nebraska municipalities at the Nebraska Legislature. The mission of the League of Nebraska Municipalities is to represent the interests of member cities and villages to preserve local control and empower municipal officials to shape the destiny of their municipality and improve the quality of life of their citizens.

The Massachusetts Municipal Association is a nonprofit, nonpartisan association that provides advocacy, training, publications, research and other services to Massachusetts cities and towns. The MMA is the only statewide organization that brings municipal officials together to establish unified policies, to advocate these policies, and to share information that increases the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of service delivery to community residents.

The New York State Assessors' Association is an organization dedicated to the professional advancement and education of the assessment community in the State of New York.

The New York State Government Finance Officers' Association (NYS GFOA) was founded in 1978 as a not-for-profit professional membership organization. Its membership is composed of more than 1,230 public and private sector government finance professionals throughout New York State.

The Ohio Association of Public Treasurers was established to promote the general and professional interest of the public treasurers in their respective communities, to obtain a higher standard of efficiency, to improve service with allied institutions and to inspire friendly and fraternal relationships among its members. Today OAPT has over 400 members representing communities from all over the State of Ohio.

By promoting the exchange of information among finance officers of all local governments, Ohio GFOA works to meet the challenges of the ever-evolving profession of government finance and fosters increased cooperation among governments and private financial institutions. 

The Ohio Municipal League was incorporated as an Ohio non-profit corporation in 1952 by city and village officials who saw the need for a statewide association to serve the interests of Ohio municipal government.

Pennsylvania Municipal Authorities Association is the recognized association for municipal authorities in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.  Founded in 1941, PMAA was established "to provide its members with a medium for exchange of ideas on mutual problems, to present a united and common front in advocating favorable legislation and opposing detrimental legislation, and to otherwise promote the general welfare of municipal authorities of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania".

Founded in the 1950's and Incorporated in 1991 the South Dakota Association of County Officials is geared toward promoting the general welfare of county officials and to establish more uniform methods of procedure in those county offices.
